Rising Sun Country Park
Want to make a day of it? Then why not combine a visit to the Tim Lamb Centre, alongside spending time in the Rising Sun Country Park for the perfect day out!
Visitors to our centre, often take advantage of our lovely country park setting whilst they are here. With several miles of countryside track, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy a walk (or bike ride), before or after visiting our centre. Boasting a woodland nature reserve, lake and wildlife ponds and the Rising Sun Farm, there is plenty to see and do.
As you walk around the country park, there is a variety of wildlife to try and spot, including rabbits, foxes, bats and deer. There is also a range of wild birds nesting among the trees, including owls and other wild birds of prey. Plus the lake and ponds boast a range of waterfowl.
There are 3 dipping ponds… with array of pond-life species to spot and the country park is also a great place for a mini beast hunt too.
There are a range of walking and cycling routes around the country park, with the blue and green routes being level access suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs. More details and a map of the area can be found here.
Free parking is available for both the Rising Sun Country Park and our centre via the main country park entrance off Whitley Road (next to Asda Benton).
