We are very grateful to the TK Maxx and Homesense Foundation who recently awarded us a grant of £1000 from their Community Fund. The Foundation’s Community Fund gives TJX, TK Maxx and Homesense associates the opportunity to nominate a charity close to their hearts, to receive a grant of £500. We were absolutely delighted to hear that we were nominated not only once but twice; and therefore we received a double award totaling £1000.
Through this generous grant, we were able to fund a range of Easter and spring-related activities at the Tim Lamb Centre over the Easter school holidays. Activities included a visit from Crazy Creatures; a local animal party company who brought along snakes, lizards, tortoises, skinny pigs and other creepy crawlies. Keeping with the animal theme, we also had a visit from Animals About Town, a mobile farm bringing sheep, goats, rabbits and guinea pigs.
Children visiting the Tim Lamb Centre were also able to enjoy arts and craft activities, cake decorating and have their faces painted. It was wonderful to see all the disabled children and their families have such a lovely time, enjoying the activities and experiences we were able to offer.
Although we don’t know who the two thoughtful individuals who nominated us for the fund are, we would like to extend our thanks to them both. We really do appreciate the kind support of both individual supporters and grant providers alike. Without it, we would not be able to offer such special memories for all the children we support.
